You can find better LEDs from sites online but I would first look at vids of how other cars with the same model bulbs work and how the bulbs look - there are many videos out there. ![]() If you want LED bulbs the best you will likely find at one of those stores as far as brand is APC. They have very bright white light and I had a set of Silverstar headlights last over 5 years in my truck that I drove daily. ![]() If you go to a local auto part store they will not have much of anything better than Sylvania Silverstars which are not half bad but they are halogen - they have been good to me for years. you might find 921ST where the ST is some tweak that particular bulb has from whatever the company is (specifically I think ST means Silverstar if I remember right). The Halogen housings just twist off since they know you'll be swapping that H11 bulb.Bulb sizes are the same regardless of the company - the only thing they might do is add suffix letters like if you had a bulb that was 921 in size. You pretty much gotta pull the whole light to really get a driver there to pull the screw to open it up. I guess they figure you wont need to change that stock D2S bulb or whatever is, so they put a screw there so you can't take off the cup. Have you ever wondered why there is a little hole in the low beam cup on the back of your halogen headlights, but no screw? That's because its not there for you lowly non-HID people, haha. Not sure how it has any clue how much to adjust, and how messing with the nut it turns will change its functionģ. From what I can tell, its just a tiny motor that turns one of the adjustment bolts on the lights - Up and Down. Customers say when they're way lowered, it keeps adjusting them the same, which is then aiming too low. Auto Level - no idea how this works, but it seems like bootleg tech to me. Dark Chrome tint over the stock bright chrome bezels (I see the tint come off before the chrome when I sand blast these to paint)Ģ. There is only a few differences I have found in the actual housing that differs from HID housings to Halogen, non of which any non GC person would probably pick up on:ġ. Anybody can buy our Bi-Xenon HID adapter plate for 200 + S/H and very easily change their OEM Halogen lights (List value 600ish new from dealer) to easily out-do the crazy expensive factory HID headlights (1600-2000 list). Do they look bad stock, nope, but they could sure look/perform better with aftermarket parts. I think that idea is why we buy most of the part we do for our cars. And lastly, does it do anything to help light output with the high beams, nope.Īgain, not bad, actually good, but it could be better. Does this mean HID kits in the halogen housings are bad? NO way, its a cheap option that I do all the time, and people love it. The size of the OEM HID projector is much bigger, allowing the light to focus out of the housing much different than installing an H11 HID kit into the halogen housing. So check the images, and just post questions here about this. ![]() More or less, the whole thought was that the OEM HID projectors were the same as the OEM Halogen projectors, aaaaaand DUN DATTTAAA!!!!!! I call bullsh!t Quite a while ago I introduced a killer upgrade for those of you with the stock halogens, that wanted to get the true benefit of an HID kit by using an HID specific Projector. I've read all sorts of info on this, and figured since I have my hands on so many sets of lights, both OEM HID, as well as Halogen, retrofit, etc.
